On Saturday, May 22nd. family, friends and a host of dignitaries joined together in the dedication of the Maggie Crotty Walking Path which is located at the Bremen Township facility at 15350 Oak Park Ave. in Oak Forest.

This walking path is the result of the vision that Maggie had to transform an unused, overgrown, and debris filled parcel of township property in to a beautiful slice of nature for all the residents of Bremen Township to enjoy. It is through her determination and perseverance that her vision is now a reality.

Past and present federal, state, and local officials who served with Maggie and addressed the crowd spoke of their time working together and had the common theme of what a privilege it was to serve alongside her and commitment to public service.

Congresswoman Robin Kelly, former House Speaker Michael Madigan, and former Senate President John Culllerton spoke of their friendship and expressed their admiration for the leadership and integrity that Maggie exhibited throughout her career. Also in attendance were Midlothian Mayor Gary l’Heureux, along with former Mayor Terry Stephens, Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller, Markham Mayor Roger Agpawa, Former State Senator Ed Malony, Stickney Township Supervisor Lou Viverito, Richton Park Mayor Rick Reinbold, Hazel Crest President Vernard Alsberry, Bloom Township Highway Commissioner Joe Stanfa and former State Representative Terry Steczo who served as Master of Ceremonies.
